10 things to cheer you up in less than 10 minutes.

Last week I wrote a post about the failures of universities to preserve the mental health of their students and once again I start a post by complaining about how awful the world is. Every day seems to bring a new and more painful story to read (I probably didn't help myself by subscribing to The Economist). As we step into May I feel the need more than ever to publish a quick pick me up - my favourite pick me up is a brunch (see above) but for those of us who can't afford brunch everyday I hope this suffices. This is probably more for me than you.

1. Lets start off with something simple, just spend 2 minutes looking at these 19 pictures of just really fat cats. Number 12 is strangely therapeutic.

Cats are stress reducing.

2. Revel in the fact that owls actually have really long legs underneath their floof. I wish this was the case for humans but turns out not all of us can lift up our tummies and find extra leg.

3. THEY'VE ACTUALLY MADE A DEATH STAR LASER. I'm out, I'm done with this world.

4. 95 year old Grandma, Erni Stollberg, has become a fashion sensation appearing in Vogue. Bless this woman (and her dog).

5. You can watch a video of snow leopards snuggling here. This is super rare, snow leopards have been called 'ghost cats' due to the inability to catch them on camera, there are only 4,000 left.

Snuggling cats are definitely stress reducing.

6. Download DesignHome (this one takes 2 minutes to do but will take over your life) and may your interior design goals be forever fulfilled (except with money constraints and design briefs)

7. Bask in the knowledge that Italy may be passing a law for women to get period leave from work. This. Is. The. Real. Deal.

8. Follow bodyposipanda on instagram and 'embrace the squish' in a quick 10 second scroll.

9. Read the best tweets that April has to offer - including the seductive goose meme.

10. Finally, quickly see if your taste in biscuits can determine how old you are and where you live. Mine was alarmingly inaccurate and made me question my favourite biscuit.

I hope you're feeling a reduction in stress and a little more cheerful about the world.
